"Extra, Extra, Hey look at the headline's!"
You heard of a cattle call, but this is the first ever DIVA call. Six legendary ladies pull out all the stops while vying for a chance to play the mother of all musical comedy roles - Mama "Rose" in GYPSY. Part "Chorus Line", part Vaudeville, this show pits Carol Channing, Liza MInnelli, Barbra Streisand, Ethel Merman and Peggy Lee in a knock down, drag out fight with each other and with the young, upstart theater director they need to win over to play the role.
Aked to sing "something from the score - but make it your own" and a signiture song of their own choosing, the music in this show includes wicked parodies of such evergreens as "If Mama Was Married", "I really need this job", "You'll Never get Away from Me", "Broadway Baby", "Mein Herr" until the enitire cast joins forces for a ferocious "Roses Turn"! COmplete with Chorus boys, scenes of high comedy and wall to wall special material, this show gives a backtstage glimpse into the high stakes audition of all time.
